Join the SDTC Recreational Team!

Perfect for dancers who have grown in their recital classes and are ready for more stage time, without auditions or high time commitments! Students are grouped by age and skill, and each member performs one fun routine at 2–3 events, plus our end of the season recital.

This team is ideal for students with busy schedules or other activities, and members can continue taking their favorite recital classes. With flexible payment plans available, we make it easy and affordable for every  student to be part of the team, Shine on stage, build confidence, and have fun. Join the Recreational Team today!

Being part of the Showtime Competitive Teams are truly an unforgettable experience each season. Our team has earned numerous accolades, including First Place Category and Overall Wins, Judges’ Choice Awards, and special invitations to prestigious events in New York and Hollywood. We’ve been recognized for our outstanding entertainment value, innovative choreography, and exceptional costuming. As a member of our competitive team, you’ll have the opportunity to perform at 3–4 exciting events throughout the season, including one out-of-town competition, our annual Recital, and National Finals in the summer. To ensure our dancers are fully prepared and performing at their best, all team members are expected to meet the following training guidelines:

• Recreational Team Members: Must attend a minimum of 1 day per week of studio training.
• Part-Time Competitive Team Members: Must attend at least 2 days per week of training at the studio.
• Full-Time Competitive Team Members: Are required to train 2–3 days per week, depending on routine placement and skill level.

While students may enroll in up to two recreational classes, our competitive dancers are expected to prioritize their dance training. To maintain performance quality and team commitment, all team members should limit involvement in outside sports and activities, particularly during the height of Competition Season (January–March).

These expectations help us foster a focused, team-driven environment where every dancer has the opportunity to grow, succeed, and shine on stage.

All important dates, locations, and details will be provided in our official Competition Team Packet. Recreational Teams will participate in 2–3 exciting  events, while our Full and Part-Time Competitive Teams will attend 4 local competitions and one out-of-town event. All teams will also have the opportunity to showcase their hard work and talent at our annual Recital. Whether you're just starting out or ready to compete at a higher level, our program offers unforgettable experiences, team spirit, and the thrill of performing on stage.

Our Competition Prep Class is designed to fully prepare all company members for the stage and competition season. This class, included as part of your team membership, focuses on performance skills, stage presence, and confidence-building to ensure every dancer feels ready and excited to shine. Our experienced staff works closely with each student to fine-tune routines, reinforce technique, and build teamwork. In addition to weekly prep classes, dancers will also participate in a full team rehearsal prior to competition season, giving them the opportunity to run their routines in a structured, performance-style setting. This ensures every dancer steps on stage feeling confident, polished, and performance-ready.
